Knight joined Newsday in March 2003 as executive vice president and general manager. Previously, he served as vice president/strategic marketing, development and finance for the Chicago Tribune. He also was responsible for the newspaper's interactive operations and its Spanish-language weekly, ¡Exito! From 1998 to 2001, he was vice president/strategy and development of Tribune Publishing Company. In that position he oversaw strategic planning, acquisitions and development projects, as well as managing integration activities following Tribune's acquisition of Times Mirror in 2000.
Previously, Knight helped create and had senior management roles at Classified Ventures and Brass Ring, both of which are interactive business partnerships between Tribune and other leading media companies. He also served as mergers and acquisitions counsel for Tribune from 1996 to 1997. Prior to joining Tribune, he was a senior corporate associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom in Chicago and London.
Born in Flint, Mich., Knight holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Marquette University and a juris doctorate with honors from DePaul University College of Law. He also attended the corporate finance program at London Business School. His community activities include serving on the Board of the Long Island Association (a business group), the Chairman's Council for the Heckscher Museum of Art in Huntington, N.Y, and as Volunteer Leadership Campaign Chairman for New York Blood Center. He also serves on the Tribune New York Foundation board.

John Mancini is Newsday's executive vice president and editor.
Mancini was named to succeed Howard Schneider in November 2004. Prior to that he was Newsday's assistant managing editor/ New York, overseeing the paper's New York City edition.
Mancini joined Newsday in 1980 as an editorial assistant. He left the paper in 1982 to become a reporter at the Greenwich Time and from 1983-85 was a copy editor at the Stamford Advocate.
He rejoined Newsday in 1985 as a copy editor for New York Newsday and subsequently worked as a graphics editor, Sunday news editor, night city editor and day city editor for the New York edition.
When New York Newsday closed in 1995, Mancini went to work for The New York Times as a presentation editor. From 1995-96 he was deputy metropolitan editor of the New York Post. He was named founding editor-in-chief of the Long Island Voice, a position he held from 1996-99. He returned to the Post as metropolitan editor from 1999-2001. Mancini rejoined Newsday as metropolitan editor in February 2001 and was named AME/New York in 2003.
He is a graduate of Long Island University's C.W. Post campus with a bachelor's degree in Communication Arts.
Mancini and his wife, Laura Litterello, live in Middle Village, Queens, with their two sons.
Terry Jimenez

Terry A. Jimenez became Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Newsday in February 2005 after serving as Controller of the Chicago Tribune since January 2003.
In the capacity of Controller of the Chicago Tribune, he was responsible for accounting and reporting, circulation billing and collections, payroll, accounts payable and tax.
Prior to joining the Chicago Tribune, Jimenez served as Finance Director of the McDonald's Corporation responsible for strategic business planning, negotiation, and the integration of joint ventures. Before that, he held various financial management positions with the McDonald's Corporation since 1994.
A native of Chicago, Jimenez has a master's degree from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University in Chicago. A certified public accountant, he is a member of the International Newspaper Financial Executives Association, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and a member of the Northern Illinois University's Accountancy Executive Advisory Council. He sits on the boards of the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island, Family and Children's Association, and the Long Island Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
