Joe Scavone had six goals and three assists to lead Lindenhurst over Sachem East, 18-15, in Suffolk Division I boys lacrosse Wednesday. Ryan Murgatroyd and Hunter De Ronde each had five goals and an assist. Caiden Alazraki had two goals and three assists for Lindenhurst (6-10).

TUESDAY’S GAME

West Islip 15, Mount Sinai 12: Derek Busking had eight goals and three assists to lead West Islip (9-6) in Suffolk II. Chase Busking had two goals and two assists, Nick Klimatas had three goals and one assist and Quinn Reilly had two goals and two assists. Lucas Laforge scored three goals for Mount Sinai (4-11).

GIRLS LACROSSE

Calhoun 10, Oceanside 8: Shannon Lewis tallied three goals and four assists while Isabella Vieni added three goals to lead Calhoun (9-6) in Nassau II. Leigha Zaman scored three goals for Oceanside (9-6).

Mattituck 9, Hauppauge 5: Claire McKenzie scored three goals to lead Mattituck (11-5) in Suffolk II. Page Kellershon had two goals and an assist. Grace Quinn had a goal and two assists. Olivia Zehil and Allison Heidtman each scored a goal. Amelia Harmon and Reese McKenna each had two assists.

BASEBALL

Plainedge 5, Lynbrook 2: Zach Rosenzweig went 2-for-3 with a double and a two-run homer to lead Plainedge (14-6) in Nassau A-I. Nick Gerardi went 2-for-3 with a leadoff homer in the first inning. Matt Rosenberg struck out five in four innings to earn the win and Nick Williams pitched three hitless innings to earn the save.

Smithtown East 3, Half Hollow Hills East 0: Aiden Rosen struck out eight in a two-hitter to lead Smithtown East in Suffolk III. Luke Ciminiello went 1-for-3 and scored a run. Andrew Carbonara went 2-for-3 with a two-run single.

St. Anthony’s 2, St. John the Baptist 0: Kevin Baez struck out three in a complete game to lead St. Anthony’s (12-7) in the NSCHSAA. Christian Mugno hit a two-out, two-run single in the second.

TUESDAY’S GAME

Mineola 6, Valley Stream North 5: Luke Martinez’s walk-off single drove in Logan Dougherty to cap a four-run seventh for Mineola (6-11-2) in Nassau A-I. Andrew Basel had an RBI sac fly and Anthony Sartori hit a two-out, two-RBI single to tie the score at 5. Andrew Valente threw two scoreless innings to earn the win.

SOFTBALL

Herricks 2, Long Beach 0: Sophia Pisacano went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs to lead Herricks (7-11) in non-league. Aliyah Begawala went 2-for-3 with a double and a run. Madison Nell pitched a complete game, walking two and striking out four.

TUESDAY’S GAMES

Massapequa 14, Oceanside 10: Maeve Schiereck went 4-for-5 with a three-run home run and four RBIs for Massapequa (14-3) in Nassau I. Lauren O’Brien went 2-for-4 with a single, a two-run home run and three RBIs. Samantha Portz went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Emily Balducci, Madison Tucholski, Mikayla Buckley and Meghan Stork each drove in a run. Shea Santiago earned the win, going four innings and Kaylah Hansen pitched the final three innings.

Westhampton 13, Rocky Point 1: Katie Burke went 2-for-5 with a double, a home run and four RBIs while her sister Elliejean Burke, finished 3-for-5 with three RBIs to lead Westhampton (13-5) in Suffolk V. Rylee McGinness went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs. Addison Celi struck out 14 and gave up two hits while also going 3-for-5 with a double and a run. Celi has 212 strikeouts this year.

FLAG FOOTBALL

TUESDAY’S GAME

Northport 19, Sachem East 14: Hazel Carlson pulled 21 flags and had a 30-yard interception return for a touchdown to lead No. 8 Northport over No. 9 Sachem East in the first round of the Suffolk Class A playoffs. Grace Gilmartin threw for 195 yards and a touchdown and rushed for another 102 yards and a touchdown in the win. Northport (9-4) will play at No. 1 Half Hollow Hills East at 4 p.m. Friday in the quarterfinals. Sofia Larrea threw for two touchdowns for Sachem East, which finished 5-5.
