If you're looking for a different sort of weekend getaway but haven't got a clue where to go, mystery solved.
The third annual Hamptons Whodunit — a three-day affair featuring noted mystery writers, true crime experts, Champagne and caviar — returns with a slew of events for sleuth lovers at various locations in the Village of East Hampton April 11-13.
Murder, she wrote could easily be the theme of this year's Whodunit, which will spotlight guests of honor Lucy Foley, Tess Gerritsen and Shari Lapena. Other authors who'll be talking about and signing copies of their books include East Hampton's Alifair Burke, A.J. Finn ("The Woman in the Window"), NBC News entertainment reporter Chloe Melas, North Haven's Stella Sands, Jason Rekulak, Carter Wilson and many more.
True crime panels will cover topics ranging from "Guns, Mafia and Extortion" to "Little Sister: The Mysterious Death of Natalie Wood" in which crime scene investigator Sheryl McCollum will conduct a virtual interview with the "West Side Story" star's sister, Lana Wood.
Other happenings include trivia contests; the Goody Garlick Graveyard Tour at St. Luke's Episcopal Church's Hoie Hall; a murder mystery game; "Wine and Crime," where you can try and solve a cold case over Chablis while interacting with forensics experts, investigators and members of law enforcement, and much more.
Kicking things off will be a cocktail party and reception at the Maidstone Club at 6 p.m. on April 10 for $150. (For $321.96, you can arrive at 5 p.m. and meet the VIP guests.) Daily panel passes are $71.21 (Friday-Saturday) and $28.52 (Sunday) with weekend panel passes available for $129.89. Visit hamptonswhodunit.org for more information and to purchase passes. Individual tickets for the additional events, such as the murder mystery game, are already sold out.
