Martha Stewart to talk about her cookbook at Molloy College's Madison Theatre
Martha Stewart is coming to Long Island, and that's a good thing.
The lifestyle icon will talk with NewsdayTV's Elisa DiStefano about her 100th book, "Martha: The Cookbook" on Nov. 12 at Molloy University's Madison Theatre in Rockville Centre. The event, which is being presented by Long Island LitFest, is taking place the same day that Stewart's book comes out. Tickets, which are $55-$60 and also include a copy of the cookbook, can be purchased at madisontheatreny.org starting Friday at 11 a.m.
In the book, subtitled "100 Favorite Recipes, With Lessons and Stories From My Kitchen," Stewart features 100 of her choicest recipes including potato pierogi; gougère, a French pastry using a dough mixed with Gruyère cheese; apple brioche bread pudding; and paella.
"Martha: The Cookbook" is also packed with dozens of photos from Stewart's archives as well as many kitchen tips.
The cookbook is one of many projects keeping Stewart, 83, busy. She has three series — "Martha Cooks," "Martha Gardens" and "Martha Holidays" — on the Roku Channel, and also hosts "The Martha Stewart Podcast," where she interviews celebrities and entrepreneurs about their latest projects. Her most recent guests were country music star Dolly Parton and her sister, Rachel Parton.
Stewart, a longtime Hamptonite, is also scheduled to appear at the opening of the Hamptons International Film Festival on Friday where "Martha," a documentary about her by Great Neck native R.J. Cutler, will be screened.
