The fatal strangulation of Blue Point native Gabrielle Petito and the search for her fiance Brian Laundrie are the focus of a panel-discussion special Wednesday at 9 p.m. on the cable channel Investigation Discovery.

Former New York news anchor Sukanya Krishnan will moderate the discussion for "Gabby Petito: ID Special Report," featuring victims-rights advocate and host of numerous fugitive documentary series John Walsh; former Brooklyn homicide prosecutor and host of ID's "True Conviction" Anna-Sigga Nicolazzi; true-crime podcaster Daryn Carp; crime TV producer-reporter Michelle Sigona; People magazine crime writer Elaine Aradillas, host of ID's "People Magazine Investigates"; and law-enforcement coach/mentor Rhonda Glover Reese.

The 22-year-old Petito and fellow Bayport-Blue Point High School graduate Laundrie, 23, were on a cross-country road trip this summer when her mother, Nichole Schmidt of Blue Point, reported to Suffolk County police on Sept. 11 that her daughter was missing. Petito's body was found Sept. 19 in Wyoming in the area where she was last seen. Two days earlier, Laundrie had gone missing and was presumed to be avoiding police.
