Gene Bernstein, of Southampton, has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Long Island Association for his efforts boosting Long Island’s economy and supporting the region’s communities through philanthropic efforts.

Gene Bernstein, of Southampton, has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Long Island Association for his efforts boosting Long Island’s economy and supporting the region’s communities through philanthropic efforts. Bernstein, now retired, was chairman of Northville Industries from 2004 through 2017 and helped start the Northville Long Island Classic Champions Tour Golf Tournament, which he chaired for 11 years and raised more than $1 million for Cohen Children’s Medical Center. His other activities include having served as chairman of Alfred University’s board of trustees and the Energeia Program at Molloy College’s Advisory Board, president of the Metropolitan Golf Association, and co-chair of the Long Island Association’s Energy and Environment subcommittees.
