Cynthia Schaaf, of Seaford, has received the Frank J. Hoschek Memorial Service Award from the Seaford Public Library’s board of trustees in recognition of her service to the library community. Schaaf, who is known to many as “Miss Cindy,” was the library’s head of children’s services from 1981 to 2015. She is also a member of the Seaford 9/11 Memorial Committee and a board member for Our Redeemer Nursery School in Seaford and the Seaford Historical Society. She is also involved in overseeing donations of clothing and household items at the Soup to Nuts Soup Kitchen in Freeport.
