I Do!: Lucia Cicchetti and Nick Perrone
When Lucia Cicchetti first met Nick Perrone at work, they were just friends. But as time went on, she found herself falling for him.
“Working together, especially in the type of job setting we had, I saw where his compassion, support, guidance, leadership and love came from,” she said.
Cicchetti, 28, is a supervisor at ACDS Day Habilitation in Plainview and is originally from Valley Stream. Perrone, 32, is an insurance broker from Lindenhurst, but when the two met in 2016 he was working at ACDS, which provides services to adults with special needs.
The pair worked together for several months before their first date — a round of Monster Mini Golf in Deer Park.

“We’ve always brought out the best in each other, which made being together so special,” Perrone said.
Perrone proposed on July 13, 2023, at upstate Lake George, with 20 family members and friends in tow. He said the plan was to propose on the dock by the lake after they were done taking family photos, then enjoy a celebratory dinner. Everyone was in on the secret — except Cicchetti.
“We walked over by the lake and started to take family pictures,” she recalled. “Then everyone said to turn around and look at the sunset, and that’s when I knew something was up! All the little kids were holding up a sign that said, ‘Lucia, will you marry me?’ ”
They wed on Aug. 31 at Russo’s on the Bay in Howard Beach, Queens, with 225 guests in attendance.
Not everything went exactly as planned, making the evening even more unforgettable.
During the reception, Cicchetti said, “We got lifted on chairs, and while up there I kept sliding off, so I ended up falling off the chair 10 feet from the ground! I bounced right back up because my dress had so much fabric. I didn’t feel a thing and continued to keep dancing!”
