Airton Santos-Alexandre, of Medford, killed in Stony Brook motorcycle crash, police say

A Medford man riding a motorcycle was killed Sunday morning after he crashed near the entrance to Stony Brook University Hospital, the Suffolk County Police Department said.
Airton Santos-Alexandre, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene after the crash about 11:10 a.m., police said.
The 2015 Suzuki GSX-R750 motorcycle was traveling south on Nicolls Road in Stony Brook when it struck a guardrail on the right shoulder, according to a police department news release.
Police shut down southbound lanes between the two entrances to the hospital until about 3:10 p.m.
Detectives from the Sixth Precinct are investigating the crash, police said.
