A Long Island father and his two children were killed in a crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike Saturday, officials said.

Donnell Hickson, 43, of Baldwin, and his two children were heading east in the right lane of the Pennsylvania Turnpike at approximately 4:25 a.m. in Penn Township, Lancaster County, when an eastbound 2016 Freightliner truck collided with their 2018 Honda Accord, Pennsylvania State Police said.

The collision caused both vehicles to leave the roadway, police said

The Lancaster County Coroner's Office identified and confirmed the relationship of the three occupants of the Honda Accord as Hickson, his son Decir Hickson, 18, of Pittsburgh, and his 11-year-old daughter. The coroner's office did not release the name of Hickson's daughter because she is a minor.

Police said the father and his two children were pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner's office listed multiple traumatic injuries as the cause of the death for all three victims and listed the manner of death as accidental.

Police did not immediately say whether the driver of the truck was injured or if charges were filed in connection with the crash. An investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
