The rain is ending on Long Island.
Monday, showers across the region dampened St. Patrick's Day activities including the big parade in Manhattan, but for Tuesday the National Weather Service was predicting mostly sunny skies with a high temperature of about 60 degrees. The average high for the date in Islip is 48 degrees.
Tuesday, a north wind of 6 to 13 mph is expected.
The weather service's forecast for Tuesday night calls for clear skies with a low temperature near 36 degrees.
Wednesday should be sunny with a high temperature of around 57 degrees before clouds arrive in the evening.
After mostly cloudy skies during the day Thursday, showers are likely in the evening after 8 p.m., according to the weather service.
On Friday there is a 30% chance of rain before 11 a.m.
