Long Island crash map: Tracking incidents from 2022 to 2024
Long Island's roads have claimed the lives of 2,100 and seriously injured 16,000 others in crashes over a decade. Traffic crashes were the leading cause of accidental death among young people ages 5-19 on LI from 2018 to 2023, and they were the second-leading cause among all Long Islanders under 80. This interactive map shows all reported crashes on Long Island from Jan. 1, 2022, to the end of 2024 and is part of Newsday's exclusive yearlong series examining the causes behind the alarming number of incidents and potential solutions to make our roads safer.
