Musings: Get better stripe for this road

Recently, around 6 p.m., I was driving on Hicksville Road, just north of Jerusalem Avenue, while it was raining and the road visibility was practically nonexistent. I could not see the yellow stripe that divides the lanes, and it was a miracle that I did not have an accident.
I have been driving for more than 40 years and, fortunately, never have had an accident.
A better paint should be used so drivers can clearly see where the lanes are divided. Will people have to die first before this problem is addressed?
