Michael Gormley covers the governor, Legislature, state government, politics and state issues. He joined Newsday in 2013 after working as capitol editor of The Associated Press in Albany; assistant city editor for projects, projects reporter and government reporter at the Times Union of Albany; bureau chief and project reporter for the Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin; reporter and projects reporter for The Recorder in Amsterdam; and reporter for the Oneida Daily Dispatch and the Catskill Daily Mail. He co-authored two nonfiction books on baseball.
