Median home sale prices — excluding the East End — reached a record $700,000 in the third quarter of 2024, according to data from real estate brokerage Douglas Elliman and appraisal firm Miller Samuel.

That was 9.4% higher than the July to September period last year, data showed.

Median prices also rose year over year to more than $1.5 million in the Hamptons and nearly $1 million on the North Fork.

The market is burning out and pricing out many Long Island home seekers, many of whom have pressed pause on their searches in order to save.
