The stick of West Hempstead’s Elizabeth Poirot had some extra vigor this week.

The sophomore had five goals, including the go-ahead score with 2:12 left in the fourth quarter of West Hempstead's 11-10 win over Clarke in Nassau Conference IV girls lacrosse. She also had an assist in the six-point effort. Poirot totaled six goals, three assists and five draw controls in a 16-8 win over Herricks.

Cold Spring Harbor and Smithtown East had milestones to celebrate. Seahawks goalie Maya Soskin and Bulls goalie Grace McDonald each collected their 500th career save in wins over Massapequa and Sachem North, respectively.

The Northport boys lacrosse team spoiled Half Hollow Hills’ undefeated season with a 7-3 win on Thursday. Giancarlo Valenti limited Hills superstar Anthony Raio to zero points as Northport became the first team this season to hold Hills under nine goals. Luca Loiacano scored twice in the victory and also had four goals and an assist in a 16-8 win over Longwood.

BOYS

Derek Busking, West Islip: He had eight goals and three assists in the Eagles' 15-12 win over Mt. Sinai.

Sean Forde, St. Anthony’s: Forde made 12 saves as the Friars beat Chaminade, 12-6, clinching the NSCHSAA Class AAA crown for the fourth straight season and the state CHSAA AAA championship for the third straight season.

Kole Lemke, Hauppauge: Lemke had eight goals and two assists in a 10-point game against Bellport. He also had three goals and two assists against Glenn.

Troy Madden, Herricks: Madden surpassed the 100-point mark for the season with a 13-point performance (seven goals and six assists) in a 17-4 win over Freeport.

Zach Maligres, Riverhead: Maligres won 94% percent of his faceoffs this week. He won all 27 of his attempts in victories over Whitman and North Babylon, and went 20-for-25 in Riverhead’s first-round playoff win over Commack.

Mark Restivo, Calhoun: He made 11 saves and allowed just one goal in a win over MacArthur.

Nick Uzakewicz, Hauppauge: Uzakewicz had a 17-point week, totaling eight goals and nine assists in wins over Bellport and Glenn.

GIRLS

Mirabella Altebrando, Miller Place: Long Island’s assist leader added another eight to her total in a win over Hampton Bays and now had 65 this season.

Kayla Gilmore, Floyd: Gilmore totaled 10 goals and four assists and had a seven-goal game against Commack.

Caitlin Haggerty, South Side: Haggerty, who scored the winning goal in a Nassau Conference I win over Syosset, totaled seven goals and five assists this week in wins over Syosset and Seaford.

Alina LaRosa, Carey: LaRosa had six goals and an assist to lead Carey past Wheatley, 12-5. She added another five goals with two assists to help the Seahawks defeat Malverne/East Rockaway, 20-9.

Courtney Mahon, Our Lady of Mercy: Mahon scored nine of Our Lady of Mercy’s 15 goals in its win 15-11 win over Archbishop Molloy in the CHSAA.

Dylan McNamara, Sayville: McNamara had five goals and three assists in Sayville's 16-8 win over Shoreham-Wading River to help the Golden Flashes complete an undefeated regular season.

Emma Ryan, Baldwin: Her six goals and two assists helped Baldwin defeat Hicksville, 14-13. She also had four goals and two assists in Baldwin’s 15-4 win over Freeport.
