High school football roundup: Week 4 scores in Nassau, Suffolk and the CHSFL
Aidan Winter had 21 carries for 284 yards and two touchdowns and Kai Jankow rushed 17 times for 188 yards and four TDs to lead host Babylon to a 57-48 win over Miller Place in Suffolk Division IV football Saturday night.
Keven Bonilla threw a 75-yard touchdown pass to Charlie Bunger to give Babylon a 30-13 halftime lead. Daniel DeBetta added a 1-yard TD run. Babylon (4-0) stopped a potential tying two-point conversion pass with four minutes left.
Jankow scored on a 4-yard TD run with a minute remaining.
Shane Kiernan completed 38 of 54 passes for 523 yards and six touchdowns for Miller Place (2-2). Kiernan broke Miller Place’s single-game records for completions, passing yards and touchdown passes, according to coach Adam St. Nicholas.
Dane Lagrasta had 11 catches for 216 yards and three touchdowns and DJ Williamson caught 11 passes for 219 yards and three TDs and added a two-point conversion reception. Williamson and Lagrasta both broke the school record for receptions in a single game and Williamson broke the school record for receiving yards in a single game.
Mount Sinai 28, Greenport/ Southold/Mattituck 0: Hunter Pancir had 16 carries for 169 yards to lead Mount Sinai, which totaled 420 rushing yards. Max Sorrentino completed 3 of 5 passes for 41 yards and three touchdowns and added a rushing TD. Ryan Fillipe caught two TD passes and John Pramataris had a TD catch. Pramataris, Matthew Cuccinello and Vincent Graziano each had six tackles. Vincent Cardone had 41 rushing yards and a fumble recovery. Youseff Elbahey added a sack and a fumble recovery and Alex Bottomley made all four of his PATs for Mount Sinai (2-2). Greenport/ Southold/Mattituck is 3-1.
SUFFOLK I
Ward Melville 28, Whitman 14: Joe Karpowicz threw a touchdown pass, caught an 88-yard TD and ran for a score to lead visiting Ward Melville (4-0). Hudson Philbrick threw two TD passes and Joe Massaro and Angelo Sorbera each had a TD reception. Ward Melville shut Whitman out in the second half. Jack David caught a 30-yard score from Dylan Kollmer and Ryan Downes added a TD run for Whitman (2-2).
Commack 35, Patchogue-Medford 12: Brady Curry ran for 171 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries and added a TD reception to lead visiting Commack (2-2). Andrew Riggs had a 22-yard TD reception, 18 tackles, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Jalen Jean-Louis and Jonathan Maio both each had 10 tackles and Keith Abruzzo had an interception. Brett Rupolo threw two TD passes for Patchogue-Medford (1-3).
SUFFOLK II
Smithtown West 41, Centereach 26: Michael Cascione rushed for 315 yards and three touchdowns, caught a 15-yard TD pass and had two interceptions to lead Smithtown West (3-1). Nick Zins had nine tackles, including one for loss. Jason Antunes rushed for two TDs and made eight tackles (two for loss). Christian Vazquez returned an interception for a TD and caught a TD pass from TJ Doyle, who also rushed for a score for Centereach (1-3).
West Babylon 21, West Islip 7: Josiah Price had a 90-yard kickoff return for a TD and a 25-yard TD reception to lead host West Babylon (2-2). Elijah Outlaw threw a TD and ran for 97 yards and a score. Jah’rece Matthews had 12 tackles, including four for loss and three sacks. Justin Baldwin had seven carries for 71 yards and made six tackles. Jake Leila had a 9-yard TD run for West Islip (1-3).
SUFFOLK III
Islip 28, East Hampton/Bridgehampton/Pierson 20: Brady Nash ran for three touchdowns in the fourth quarter of host Islip’s comeback win. Nash ran for 102 yards and three TDs on 13 carries and completed 9 of 13 passes for 166 yards and a score as Islip (3-1) scored 21 unanswered points. Louie Tuorto had 14 tackles and Jake DeGennaro had eight tackles. Caden Tierney had five tackles and a sack. Theo Ball threw two touchdown passes, one to Charlie Stern and one to James Corwin, and Alex Davis had a 14-yard TD run for East Hampton/Bridgehampton/Pierson (2-2).
Comsewogue 39, Kings Park 17: Shane Grant had 20 carries for 201 yards and four touchdowns to lead visiting Comsewogue (2-2). Peter Castaldo had six carries for 100 yards and a TD. Lucas Shannon made 21 total tackles and Doug Annicelli had an interception. Logan McCaffrey had a 35-yard fumble return for a TD. Aidan Barbosa had 20 carries for 128 yards and a TD for Kings Park (0-4).
Sayville 49, Westhampton 10: Patrick Coan went 19-for-26 for 310 yards and four touchdowns to lead host Sayville (4-0). Dylan Kent had four catches for 95 yards and two touchdowns and Donovan Bartolotta caught two passes for 53 yards and two TDs. Kyle Messina rushed for 64 yards and a TD on 11 carries, returned a fumble 30 yards for a score and had an interception and six tackles. Keith Kolar forced a fumble, Mikey Sands had eight tackles and two tackles for loss and Tristan Vitale had a 17-yard TD run. Finn Drake was 10-for-20 for 109 yards and a score and Patrick Fay had four catches for 49 yards and a TD for Westhampton (1-3).
Hauppauge 34, Rocky Point 7: Gershon Diaz had 134 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries to lead host Hauppauge (3-1) in Suffolk III. Liam O’Connor had eight carries for 41 yards and two TDs. Nick Lachapelle completed 10 of 15 passes for 129 yards and two TDs and Joe Pistritto caught four passes for 40 yards and two scores and added an interception. Grayson Marmol ran for an 8-yard TD for Rocky Point (2-2).
NASSAU II
Glen Cove 30, Long Beach 14: Devon Gonzalez had 20 carries for 211 yards and two touchdowns and Jadyn Johnson rushed 13 times for 114 yards and two TDs to lead visiting Glen Cove (3-1). Gonzalez also converted a pair of two-point conversions. Taha Waly added 62 rushing yards on 13 carries and Peter Satchell had an interception. Charlie Conway ran for a touchdown and threw for a score for Long Beach (2-2).
CHSFL
Chaminade 30, Archbishop Stepinac 22: Tim Murphy threw two touchdown passes to lead Chaminade (5-1) in CHSFL AAA on Sunday. Nick Cuomo returned an interception 40 yards for a TD. Timothy Battaglia caught an 18-yard TD pass and Brady Murray had a 19-yard TDcatch. Peter Gerbasi ran in a 5-yard score and Daniel Landrem made a tackle for a safety in the fourth quarter.
SATURDAY’S GAMES
Cardinal Hayes 27, Kellenberg 7: Daniel Licari threw for 60 yards and a TD for host Kellenberg (2-4). Jack Durso completed 10 of 17 passes for 70 yards and rushed for 40 yards. Christian DaCosta had three catches for 73 yards and a TD. Luke Chernaski and Brendan Galla each had three catches.
Xavier 42, Holy Trinity 7: Josiah Patrick threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Chase Cruz for visiting Holy Trinity (0-6).

Hackley 34, St. Dominic 14: Jojo Galeotafiore had a 1-yard touchdown run and a 20-yard TD pass to Nick Davis for visiting St. Dominic (2-3) in non-league.
