Jessica Black, St. Anthony’s, Sr.

Black takes over between the pipes for the No. 1 team in the nation with the pressure of living up to Newsday All-Long Island selection Lexi Zenk, who is playing at North Carolina. Black has proven up to the challenge as she anchors a defense that has allowed just 14 goals in its first five games (2.8 goals per game). She is committed to play at Army.

Ruby Cacioppo, Manhasset, Jr.

Cacioppo has been given complete control of the Manhasset net this season after splitting time in goal since the eighth grade. She is aggressive in the cage and all that experience has helped her excel early this spring. The Stanford commit is one of the top goalies in the nation, as she was selected to play for the U16 Team USA squad during the prestigious Brogden Cup in October 2024.

Delaney Clark, Kellenberg, Sr.

She had 160 saves last season as an often challenged goalkeeper with the difficult non-league and CHSAA schedule Kellenberg consistently plays against. The Holy Cross commit was the CHSAA Defensive Player of the Year last season and she saved nine of 11 shots (81.8%) she faced in a 14-2 win over Bethpage this season.

Abby Clarkson, MacArthur, Jr.

Even the Generals’ offense often starts with their standout goalie as Clarkson is integral in MacArthur’s clears to turn defense into offense following a save or caused turnover. The Youngstown State commit has 80 saves as MacArthur’s allowed six goals or fewer in six of its first eight contests. Clarkson’s quick reactions in goal are integral to that.

Abigail Dieumegard, Islip, Jr.

The athleticism of the three-sport athlete shines in the cage as the Virginia Tech lacrosse commit had 123 saves last season and has frustrated some of the top teams in Suffolk this spring. Dieumegard has saved more than 50% of shots in five of the first seven games this season, including nearly willing Islip to a win over Rocky Point with 10 saves in a 6-5 loss.

Olivia Eusanio, Harborfields, Sr.

Eusanio is the final line of defense for one of the most dominant units in Suffolk to begin the spring. Harborfields has allowed five goals or fewer in five of its first six games. The only game it allowed more, the Richmond College commit saved 16 of 28 shots on goal by defending state Class C champion Sayville, stopping 57.1% of shots in the contest. She has more than 500 varsity saves, according to coach Hana Lepore.

Maya Farnan, Westhampton, Sr.

The four-year starter entered this season with more than 400 varsity saves, which was already a program record even before her senior season, according to coach Mary Bergmann. Farnan was a second-team All-Long Island selection last year and the UPenn commit has 54 saves in Westhampton’s 7-0 start to the season with many highlight-reel worthy saves during her varsity tenure.

Makenna Gagliardi, West Islip, Sr.

The Penn State commit was integral to West Islip knocking off Garden City in the Long Island Class B final last season, saving eight of 15 of shots (53.5%) she faced. She had 125 saves last season.

Brianna Henke, Rocky Point, Sr.

Although she’s nicknamed “Breezy,” there’s nothing free and breezy about going up against Henke. The UMass commit saved 52.1% of the shots she faced last season. She had an eight-save performance against Mount Sinai and allowed four goals, saving 66.7% of shots in a 5-4 win, including halting multiple free-position shots in the fourth quarter to preserve the one-goal victory.

Maya Soskin, Cold Spring Harbor, Sr.

Soskin was an All-Long Island selection last season after leading the Seahawks to the state Class D title. Soskin, who recorded her 600th varsity save this season, saved 52.5% of shots she faced last season, including 55% of shots in the state semifinals and final. The Florida commit had 157 saves last season with a standout performance against St. Anthony’s, the No. 1 team in the nation, with 13 saves on 21 shots for a .619 save percentage. This season, Soskin had 15 saves on 18 shots (83.3%) against a strong Huntington team in one of her many stellar performances.
