Jack Melore scored 12 of his 21 points in overtime to lead Smithtown West, 65-56, over Smithtown East in Suffolk III boys basketball on Monday night. Michael Cascione added 16 points and Ben Rappa scored 10 for Smithtown West (16-1). Craig O’Neill had 14 points for Smithtown East (12-5).

Ward Melville 54, Longwood 51: Neelesh Raghurama scored 22 points and hit six three-pointers to lead Ward Melville in Suffolk I. Luke Chitkara added 15 points, five assists and five rebounds. Lorenzo Beaton had 12 points and seven rebounds as the Patriots (10-8) clinched a playoff spot. Mike Corley led Longwood (7-11) with 17 points, and Danye Glenn added 16.

Westhampton 70, Comsewogue 47: Dante Quinones scored 13 points to lead Westhampton (14-4) in Suffolk IV. Malachi Bullock added 11 points. Chris Beverly scored 20 points for Comsewogue (6-12).

Sayville 60, Miller Place 44: Richie Carmody had 22 points and seven rebounds to lead Sayville (12-6) in Suffolk V. Mike Carmody had 10 points and four assists, and Ryan Probeyahn added eight points. Nick Frusco and Dylan Riegel each had 10 points for Miller Place (5-12).

Hempstead 66, Oceanside 44: Ziyair Jones scored 22 points to lead Hempstead (12-6) in Nassau AAA-I. Ja’Quan Morgan added 15 points and six steals. Nick Paris led Oceanside (5-13) with nine points.

Smithtown Christian 57, St. Pius 55: Nehemiah Yuen had a game-high 23 points to lead Smithtown Christian (14-3) in non-league. Isaiah McCarter finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Lorenzo Crill contributed 12 points.

Connetquot 59, Copiague 54: Peter Pinero had 20 points and Carson Turissini added 16 points for Connetquot (5-13) in Suffolk II.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Bellmore JFK 49, Roosevelt 39: Liyanna Ashurov and Ashley St. Surin had 11 points each for Bellmore JFK (5-13) in Nassau AA-III. Jordi Wohlleben had eight points. Kayla Chappelle scored a game-high 24 points with five three-pointers for Roosevelt (3-15).

Malverne 41, Lawrence 33: Jahairha Avroux, Nevaeh DeJesus and Ty’Zanae Reed all scored seven points to lift Malverne (6-13) in Nassau A-II. Gianna Torres had 22 points for Lawrence (0-16), hitting 10 free throws. Andrea Aguilar had 11 points.

Massapequa 63, Uniondale 47: Briana Neary scored 20 points to lead Massapequa (12-5) over Uniondale (13-4) in Nassau AAA-I. Savanna Appleton had seven points and 15 rebounds. Darrian Jackson scored 21 points for Uniondale.

Syosset 59, Freeport 33: Samantha Schneider scored 22 points to lead Syosset (13-1) in Nassau AAA-I. Victoria Fazzolari had 13 points and Olivia Mallor and Kate Nelmes each scored seven. Madison Harris had 15 points for Freeport (8-9).

Half Hollow Hills East 53, West Babylon 47: Leyla Barrett scored 10 points and hit a go-ahead three-pointer with 40 seconds left to lead Half Hollow Hills East (12-5) in Suffolk III. Rose Azmoudeh scored 12 of her 27 points in the fourth quarter and had nine rebounds, five assists and three blocks. Alex Brown added four points, 11 rebounds and five blocks. Avery Vergano scored 15 points for West Babylon (11-5).

BOYS BOWLING

Bay Shore 21.5, Sayville 11.5: Jayden Lobasso had a 236 in Game 3 to lead Bay Shore (11-3) in Suffolk II. Alex Clark of Sayville (3-11) had a high game of 221 in Game 1 with a 616 series.

Holy Trinity 8, St. John the Baptist 1: Gabe Klarikaitis and Drew Sinclair each rolled a 201 in Game 2 and a 540 series to lead No. 4 Holy Trinity over No. 5 St. John the Baptist in the NSCHSAA quarterfinals. Holy Trinity rolled games of 923, 937 and 980 for a 2,840 series. St. John the Baptist rolled games of 754, 976 and 826 for a 2,556 series. Holy Trinity will face No. 1 Chaminade on Wednesday.

Kellenberg 9, St. Dominic 0: Richard Deem bowled a high game of 288 with the high series of the match of 697 to lead No. 3 Kellenberg over No. 6 St. Dominic in the NSCHSAA quarterfinals. Kellenberg will face No. 2 St. Anthony’s on Wednesday.

GIRLS BOWLING

Kellenberg 8, St. Dominic 1: Kerri Callahan’s 517 series with a 194 high game helped No. 2 Kellenberg win over No. 7 St. Dominic in the quarterfinals in the NSCHSAA. Emma Dolan had a 436 series with a 182 high game. Chloe Hortsmann had a 406 series with games of 130, 132 and 144. Kellenberg will take on St. Anthony’s on Wednesday.

GIRLS GYMNASTICS

Port Washington 161.7, Bethpage 152.9: Hannah Ross led Port Washington (8-4) with an all-around score of 34.3 in Suffolk I. Addison Aarons added an all-around score of 31.2, and Morgan Klein had an all-around score of 30.9. Bethpage dropped to 4-7.
