High school sports roundup: Miller Place's Joe Strickland tosses no-hitter; more baseball, softball, lacrosse, flag football
Joe Strickland struck out 12 and walked one in a no-hitter on 85 pitches to lead Miller Place to a 5-0 win over Harborfields in Suffolk VI baseball Wednesday. Nick Frusco went 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBIs and a run. Joe Fallon went 2-for-4 with two runs and Ian Moore had two RBIs for Miller Place (10-6).
TUESDAY’S GAME
Ward Melville 2, Commack 1: Andrew Poxon tossed a 68-pitch three-hitter to lead Ward Melville (8-4) in Suffolk II. Matt Poxon went 2-for-3 and drove in Joe Karpowicz from first base to break a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the sixth.
SOFTBALL
Connetquot 8, Lindenhurst 5: MacKenzie Candido, Addison Devery and Julianna Doina all went 2-for-3 with two runs scored for Connetquot (9-5) in Suffolk II. Lyla Camacho struck out seven for the win.

Center Moriches 4, Eastport-South Manor 3: Emma Powell hit a three-run triple to tie the score at 3 in the top of the fifth inning to lead Center Moriches (9-8) in non-league. Karly Coonan scored the winning run in the eighth on an error.
North Shore 6, Roslyn 4: Adriana Porcaro went 3-for-3 with a run scored and Megan Whitcomb had the go-ahead hit and two RBIs overall to lead North Shore (7-2) in Nassau V.

St. Dominic 14, Holy Trinity 3: James Janet had four goals and one assist and James Colbert scored three goals to lead St. Dominic (7-1) in NSCHSAA. John Nawojick had 13 saves. Danny Higgins added one goal and three assists.
St. John the Baptist 14, St. Joseph Sea 5: Ryan Banaciski had four goals and three assists and Matt Rotolo had four goals and an assist to lead St. John the Baptist (13-2) in the CHSAA. Brayden Mangan and Nick Limberg each added two goals and two assists.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Commack 10, Northport 8: Aubrey Maurer scored the tying goal with 8:28 left and followed with the winning goal at the 6:56 mark to lead Commack (12-1) in Suffolk I. Emma Hendry had three goals and two assists.
Riverhead 10, North Babylon 8: Sadie Shultz totaled four goals and four draw controls and Logan Pilon added three goals and three draw controls to lead Riverhead (4-9) in Suffolk I.

Eastport-South Manor 43, West Babylon 13: Alex DaEira-Loccisano went 21-for-29 for 331 yards and five touchdowns to lead Eastport-South Manor (8-0-1) in Suffolk II. Alexa Flood caught seven passes for 84 yards and a score. Flood also had a 70-yard punt return for a TD and 10 flag pulls. Jenna Vormittag had six catches for 170 yards and two TDs.
