High school sports roundup: Dante Mansfield fuels Westhampton comeback; more lacrosse, baseball, softball, flag football
Dante Mansfield scored the game-tying goal before slotting in the game-winner with 2.9 seconds left in the fourth quarter to lead Westhampton boys lacrosse (10-5) to an 8-7 comeback victory over West Babylon in Suffolk II Tuesday afternoon. The Hurricanes trailed by four entering the fourth quarter. Mansfield and Drew Calloway led the team with three goals apiece, while Calloway also added an assist.
Hauppauge 19, Bellport 6: Nick Uzakewicz racked up four goals and seven assists while Kole Lemke scored eight goals and dished out two assists to lead Hauppauge (6-9) in Suffolk II.

Middle Country 15, Copiague 1: Tyler Diaz had six goals and four assists to lead Middle Country (7-10) in Suffolk I. Joey Grottola had four goals and three assists.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Half Hollow Hills 11, North Babylon 9: Jayden Piraino had five goals and one assist while Ellianna LaGreca earned her 100th career point, scoring four goals and one assist to lead Half Hollow Hills (6-9) in Suffolk I.
Floyd 14, Commack 6: Kayla Gilmore scored seven goals and assisted on another to lead Floyd (11-4) in Suffolk I. Kayden Meyer added three goals.

Miller Place 17, Hampton Bays 6: Mirabella Altebrando had a game-high eight assists to lead Miller Place (11-6) in Suffolk II. Olivia Coffey and Hayden Young both added three goals.

Glen Cove 10, Hewlett 0: Padelis Tursi came a single away from the cycle, going 3-for-4 with a double, triple and a home run with two RBIs to lead Glen Cove ( 6-6-2) in Nassau AA-III. Robert Malvino pitched five innings with seven strikeouts. Dylan Piriyatamwong added a two-run home run.
Mepham 10, Herricks 0: Steven Mulqueen went 2-for-3 with a homer, five RBIs and a walk to lead Mepham (9-6-2) in Nassau AA-I. Jaiden Zoller struck out 11 in five innings and went 3-for-3 with three runs scored. Sal Visone went 3-for-3 with three runs scored.

Mepham 10, Herricks 1: Steven Mulqueen went 3-for-3 with three home runs and five RBIs to lead Mepham in Nassau AA-I. Kiran Paingankar pitched six innings with 11 strikeouts.
Port Jefferson 3, Southold 0: Ruairi Rago pitched a complete-game shutout and struck out 10 to clinch a playoff berth for Port Jefferson (10-4) in Suffolk VIII.
SOFTBALL
Miller Place 4, Kings Park 3: Delaney Schleider hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning to tie the game and Ava Zicchinelli pitched all eight innings, striking out 13 to lead Miller Place (14-4) in Suffolk VI. Schleider drove in three runs and Zicchinelli collected the team’s only other RBI.

Center Moriches 17, Southampton 0: Emma Powell hit three home runs, including two grand slams, and had 13 RBIs to lead Center Moriches (9-8) in Suffolk VIII. She also tossed a one-hitter. Lilah Etan hit a grand slam.
Malverne 7, Valley Stream Central 6: Olivia Jenkins went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, including a game-winning home run to lead Malverne (10-4) in Nassau VI.

Northport 19, Sachem East 14: Hazel Carlson pulled 21 flags and returned a 30-yard interception for a touchdown to lead Northport (9-4) in non-league play. Grace Gilmartin threw for 195 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 102 yards and one touchdown.
