BARON'S COVE 

The outdoor heated saltwater pool is open to only hotel guests. Six cabanas are available this year to relax by the pool, first come, first served. (Reserve at the pool, front desk or with the concierge, fee $300 per day.) Dining reservations are not required but recommended. The dog-friendly Village Garden Rooms remain available, but dog owners must book the Cove’s “Charley package,” which includes a doggy welcome kit with bed, snacks, bowl, Frisbee and a copy of the book “Travels with Charley” by John Steinbeck. Guests staying at Baron’s Cove can take part in outdoor yoga, daily at 8 a.m., borrow a bicycle at no added charge and guests can reserve a tennis court (fee) for later in the day. Live music daily from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. An outdoor Sunday brunch overlooking the water and featuring live music begins Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. Rooms start at $389.

FIRE ISLAND BEACH HOUSE 

This spot has an outdoor pool area where the entertainment will be a mix of live music and DJs spinning chilled-out beats on weekends. The pool is currently open only to guests, but the hotel's restaurant, Canes at the FIBH, and bar are open to public. Rooms start at $235 off peak-season (late May, June and September, weekday) plus $50 resort fee per night, $450 peak season (July and August, weekday) plus $50 resort fee per night.

SOUND VIEW GREENPORT

With a pool located close to the Long Island Sound shoreline, you can lounge poolside while looking out at the water. Both hotel guests and non-guests can hang, with day passes available ranging from $65-$95 per person. They also have a seasonal membership program. The resort is bringing back its Low Tide beach bar (starting Memorial Day weekend), where one can sit in beach chairs or stroll over to an outdoor tiki bar where cocktails are mixed. There is always live music on Saturdays and Sundays at the beach. Food is also available at the Low Tide bar (during open hours, no reservations needed), at Jack’s Shack poolside snack hut for guests and pass holders or Halyard restaurant (reservations required). Rates start at $550.

MONTAUK MANOR 

Montauk Manor sits atop a hill that provides striking views of town and the sunsets, and is within a short trip to the hamlet’s restaurants and beaches. The hotel features a heated outdoor pool for guests that opens Memorial Day weekend. Indoors, you will find the newly renovated pool, sauna and Jacuzzi. There are three outdoor tennis courts and two barbecue areas with gas and charcoal grills. All suites have a full kitchen, and a courtesy shuttle to beaches and area restaurants is available. Indoor and outdoor dining is available at Monte’s at the Manor highlighting fresh produce and Italian cuisine with full bar. Rates start at $230.

THE INN AT FOX HOLLOW

This hotel has a saltwater pool (for guests only) in a palm tree-encircled courtyard, where guests can eat, drink and play lawn games. Indoor and outdoor dining is available at the Vintage 25 bar and lounge as are icy beverages. Indoor dining is available at the Volpe Ristorante Italian eatery featuring locally sourced produce and seafood. Rooms start at $289.

HOTEL INDIGO 

Located on the western North Fork yet not far from the Hamptons, this is a convenient place to stay on the East End. The hotel is dog-friendly and equipped with a large outdoor pool (only hotel guests can use the pool), where food can be served. Dining at the hotel’s Bistro 72 (bistro-72.com, 631-369-3325) highlights locally grown ingredients and regional wines. Dining reservations are recommended. Rooms start at $224.
