Lumeta Closes $13 Million in Funding to Fuel Growth and Innovation
Network Situational Awareness leader using investment to aggressively accelerate sales, marketing and execution of product roadmap
Somerset, NJ (PRWEB) October 29, 2015
Lumeta Corporation, the leader in network situational awareness, today announced that is has completed its latest tranche of financing, bringing the total since Lumeta was acquired in March 2013 to $13 million. The funding round was completed by an international investor group. The company will use the funds to expand its sales and marketing efforts, as well as broaden and accelerate product development and innovation within the network situational awareness platform. To further support these growth initiatives, Lumeta has also established a financing relationship with Silicon Valley Bank, the bank to the world’s most innovative businesses and their investors.
Lumeta’s growth has been driven by increased demand among global organizations. Clients include national and international governments; commercial entities across banking, financial services, insurance, media, high tech, pharmaceuticals, aerospace and defense, energy, oil and gas, among others (ranked on one or more of the following lists: Fortune 500, Fortune Global 500, Forbes Global 2000); and non-profit health organizations.
“Lumeta approaches network security with the assumption that networks are so dynamic and complex that there is always something you don’t know,” said Pat Donnellan, chief executive officer of Lumeta. “Our mission is to provide comprehensive analytics to empower organizations to shore up their security posture and protect their critical networked information, be it intellectual property, customer payment data, patient medical records, or military intelligence.”
Lumeta’s network situational awareness platform is a foundational layer of any organization’s security stack, ensuring visibility is provided across the totality of their network. Key features and benefits of the Lumeta solution include:
- Network architecture: At the heart of Lumeta’s platform is network indexing, which compiles an authoritative view of all that is connected to an organization’s network – every router, switch, mobile device, cloud instance, virtual machine, etc. – including the “unknown,” enabling organizations to close the visibility gap that exists in large networks. In recent years, the company has built on its Lumeta IPsonar product with the launch of Lumeta ESI, a real-time solution for network indexing.
- Network segmentation: Lumeta gives organizations comprehensive visibility into possible network segmentation violations that could represent leak paths into or out of their network – again, with ESI offering real-time insight.
- Cybersecurity analytics: Lumeta’s Cyber Threat Probe is designed to help organizations stem zombie infections and keep malware and other threats from the Internet or the Dark Web in check. With the Probe, external threat intelligence is made actionable by utilizing existing capabilities of IPsonar and ESI to correlate a comprehensive index of an enterprise’s IP address space against known threats. As soon as new threat intelligence becomes available, Lumeta will report against the new threats and send out notifications for remediation.
“Lumeta is a powerful solution for the industry and we are excited to put this investment to good use in delivering innovative enhancements to our products,” said Donnellan. “We’ll also capitalize on the global demand for our solutions by expanding strategically into new markets, ramping up our sales and marketing investments to take advantage of our leadership in network situational awareness solutions.”
Further financial terms of this deal have not been disclosed.
