Becoming pen pals helps us make new friends in Iowa

My class is writing to pen pals in Iowa. It is really cool to write to someone from Iowa. It takes a long time for our letters to get to them. Then when they do, our pen pals write back to us.
We like to write to them because it’s fun to learn about another state. They teach us about Iowa, and we teach them about New York. We sent them a word search puzzle to do that tells all about famous things in New York State. We also sent them a bunch of New York postcards and a picture of our class so they can see what we look like.
We look forward to the mail every day because we enjoy having new Iowa friends.
