Kim Sozzi and Ice-T at Sugar

While most clubs and lounges have put together one special party for Halloween weekend, Sugar Dining Den and Social Club in Carle Place (246 Voice Rd. Carle Place, 516-248-7600) has two of them, on back-to-back nights.

The masquerade lands on Saturday (Oct. 27), but the night before (Friday, Oct. 26) also offers something festive, with a show that combines popular dance with the sound of live music, as Long Island’s own Kim Sozzi will be taking the stage with her band Creations. Sozzi and Creations have worked together for many years (her father founded the act; she is currently the bandleader), and not only do they expand on Sozzi’s catalog of hits ("Feelin' Me,” How Did You Know," “Feel Your Love,” among others) by covering other well-known songs, the multi-piece band makes a great effort to replicate music as it is heard during radio and club play.

However, Saturday is the official Halloween bash (“The Vampires Ball”), and costumes are strongly suggested, with $7,500 in cash and prizes to be doled out among those whose disguises are considered the best. In addition, while only some in attendance will score prizes, all should get a good look at the night’s scheduled guest hosts: Tracy “Ice-T” Marrow and his wife Nicole “Coco” Austin.

Austin is a successful model and actress, while her husband (most people just call him Ice-T) is an instantly recognizable actor (from TV show “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit;” movies including “New Jack City,” “Trespass,” “Johnny Mnemonic” and several more) and possibly even better-known rapper and musician. Together, the two will be helping pick the costume contest winners, while DJ Neil C spins all sorts of dance-worthy beats from start to close.
