LIRR operates holiday schedule for Presidents Day
The Long Island Rail Road will operate on a holiday schedule Monday in observance of Presidents Day, with some branches getting extra trains, and service in other areas halted.
No train service will operate on the West Hempstead branch or east of Ronkonkoma.
Three extra westbound and eastbound trains will operate on the Port Washington branch.
One extra train will operate westbound on the Ronkonkoma branch and three regular eastbound trains will operate with added stops on the branch. Select trains in either direction will have extra cars.
Fares will be off-peak the entire day.

Below is a detailed list of the modifications:
Extra westbound trains:
Ronkonkoma branch
Departs Ronkonkoma at 7:10 a.m., making stops all stations to Hicksville (except Pinelawn), then Jamaica, Woodside and arrives Penn Station at 8:28 a.m.
Port Washington branch
Departs Port Washington at 7:10, 8:10 and 9:10 a.m., making all stops to Flushing Main Street (except Mets-Willets Point), then Woodside and arrives Penn Station at 7:55, 8:55 and 9:55 a.m., respectively.
Extra eastbound trains:
Port Washington branch
Departs Penn Station at 3:48, 4:48 and 5:48 p.m., making stops at Woodside, Flushing Main Street, then all stops to Port Washington.
Eastbound trains with additional stops:
Ronkonkoma Branch
Departs Penn Station at 4:35, 5:35 and 6:35 p.m. making stops at Woodside, Jamaica, New Hyde Park, Mineola, Westbury, Hicksville, Bethpage, then all stops to Ronkonkoma (except Pinelawn).
