The Long Beach City Council has written multiple letters with changing viewpoints regarding the proposal to build an offshore wind farm off the city's coast. The June 19 letter supports the bill that would allow for the alienation of portions of the beach to be used for the project's transmission lines. The July 17 letter opposes the project more directly. While it doesn't mention the alienation bill at all, Long Beach's state representatives are now using the city's July 17 letter to urge Hochul to veto the bill.
