Nassau Conference I football Week 7 recap

Charlie McKee broke the Nassau all-time passing record of 8,013 yards, previously held by Lawrence’s Joe Capobianco (2011-13), on a 12-yard touchdown pass to Logan Lyson in the second quarter to lead Oceanside to a 37-14 win over East Meadow in Nassau Conference I Friday night. McKee completed 20 of 22 passes for 311 yards and four touchdowns, and has thrown for 8,166 yards during his high school career.
He threw touchdowns to four different receivers, including Ronnie Kraemer, who caught four passes for 77 yards, including a 15-yard touchdown catch that gave Oceanside a 14-0 first-quarter lead. He also ran for a 43-yard TD to open the scoring in the first quarter.
Dan McCormick led all receivers with five catches for 87 yards. Michael Mecca made three catches for 63 yards, including a 14-yard touchdown in the second quarter for Oceanside (6-1). East Meadow is 3-4.
Hicksville 33, Westbury 7: Max Shapiro completed 7 of 12 passes for 141 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 26 yards and a score on five carries to lead Hicksville. Vincenzo Cappuccilli had three receptions for 102 yards and two TDs, Gustavo DeJesus had four receptions for 23 yards and a score and Leonardo Valdez had 46 yards and a TD on seven carries for the Comets (4-3). Griffin Ward added 10 tackles, Gavin Maceo had an interception and Eshan Paramjit and Rahmatullah Khan both had a sack. Westbury falls to 0-5.
Massapequa 47, Hempstead 28: Ryan Fountain had a 62-yard touchdown reception, 39-yard TD run and a 70-yard punt return for a score for Massapequa. Ryan Heidrich was 8-for-11 passing for 203 yards and two TDs, Jake Ciolino had six receptions for 109 yards and a score and Luke Ciolino had two rushing TDs for Massapequa (7-0). Hempstead is 2-4.
Syosset 33, Port Washington 30: Luca Cutolo’s third touchdown reception from Matt Ranges, a 61-yard strike in the fourth quarter, ending the scoring in Syosset’s win. Ranges also scored on a 1-yard run in the third quarter for Syosset (5-2). Henry Haberman ran for two touchdowns for Port Washington (2-5), including a 65-yard dash in the third quarter.
Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK 35, Uniondale 29: Sal Vazquez’s 47-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter gave Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK a 35-29 lead in its Nassau I victory. Evan Gordon rushed for 127 yards and three scores, passed for 186 yards and a touchdown and had 42 yards receiving for the Hawks (2-5). Joshua Smalls ran for three scores for Uniondale (0-6).
