A Hempstead man was killed Tuesday night when police said he struck two other cars and flipped his car into the woods off the Meadowbrook State Parkway.

State police said Michael Brown Jr., 36, was speeding north in a Porsche at around 8 p.m. when he hit a Toyota and a Nissan on the parkway near Exit M5 for Hempstead Turnpike.

The crash caused Brown’s car to overturn, landing in a wooded area off the shoulder of the parkway. He was declared dead at the scene, police said.

The driver and a passenger in the Toyota were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Northbound lanes of the parkway were closed Tuesday night while the crash was investigated by the state police Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Collision Reconstruction Unit.

State police are asking anyone with information about the crash to call 631-756-3300.
