Three Long Island high school pitchers were perfect this week.

In baseball, Manhasset senior Trey Zaffiro fired a perfect game in a 10-0, six-inning win over Hewlett, and Longwood senior CJ Forman managed perfection in a 19-0 win over Riverhead. In softball, Sachem North freshman Makayla Rimmer retired all 18 batters in a 12-0, six-inning win over Copiague.

Zaffiro, a Lafayette commit, struck out 16 of the 18 batters in the game, which ended by Nassau County's 10-run mercy rule. Only two balls were put in play against him.

Forman needed to be perfect an inning longer as there is no mercy rule in Suffolk County. He was helped by a flawless defensive effort, struck out eight and needed just 72 pitches to complete the gem. It is believed to be the first perfect game in Longwood history according to coach Ryan McSherry.

Rimmer struck out eight and also drove in two runs at the plate.
