The chances of your flight taking off on time got better in April.

The U.S. Transportation Department reports this week that departures from MacArthur Airport in Islip, above, had a 91.6 percent on-time rate, up from 80.6 the month before.

At LaGuardia, the on-time departure rate rose to 89.1 percent in April, up from 76.7 percent the month before.  And at JFK, April saw 82.9 percent of flights depart on time, compared to 72 percent the month before.
