Why it’s for sale. Alan, 67, semiretired and working part-time as a sales manager at a Queens car dealership, and Susan, 70, a retired nurse, are relocating to Florida for “endless summer” living.
The Spritzers were the first owners of this waterfront four-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom contemporary home built in 1990. The house, on a .12-acre lot, has a formal living room and dining room, a family room with a fireplace and an eat-in kitchen. There is a cathedral ceiling in the entryway, the living room and the master suite. All the bedrooms are on the second floor. The 3,000-square-foot home has about 70 feet of canal-front bulkhead and overlooks the open bay. Susan talks about the appeal of the home:
“First, I love my home. It is very open and spacious and lots of light comes in all times of the day. It’s very inviting. When I first saw the home, I told myself, ‘I’m home.’ At the time, my husband wanted waterfront and I wanted a new house. This filled all of our wishes.
"Most people, when they come in, comment on how open and flowy it is. We have a large apple tree in the front yard as well as ground cover. The side yard has grass and shrubbery. The back is all decking. At one point, we kept two boats at our dock -- a 31-foot and a 17-foot boat, so a big boat is possible.”
