Amy Schumer may be ready to play a living doll.
The Rockville Centre-raised actress-comedian is in early talks to star in a live-action film based on Mattel’s Barbie doll, Variety reports.
The story for the Sony movie is a fantasy, much like “Splash” and “Enchanted,” in which our heroine gets kicked out of Barbieland for not being perfect enough and is thrown into a real-world adventure.
The movie is slated to come out in summer 2018, and the screenplay is by Hilary Winston, though it is expected that Schumer and her sister, Kim Caramele, will do some rework. Lauren Abrahams will oversee the project for Sony Pictures.
Schumer’s previous big-screen effort was the 2015 comedy “Trainwreck,” which she wrote and starred in. That movie, about a woman who has to confront her fear of commitment after meeting a nice guy, has grossed $110 million to date.
