General-public tickets go on sale 10 a.m. Friday at Hot97.com and Ticketmaster.com.

Launched June 21, 1994, at what was then the Brendan Byrne Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey, the Hot 97 Summer Jam remained primarily in that Meadowlands location through various iterations of its stadiums and arena. In 2001 and 2002, it took place instead at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, and then last year returned to Long Island at the recently opened UBS Arena.

Hempstead born-and-raised rapper-actor Method Man (born Clifford Smith) first gained fame in the 1990s as part of the influential crew Wu-Tang Clan. Performing as a solo act as well, he earned a Grammy Award for his 1994 duet with Mary J. Blige, “I’ll Be There for You/You're All I Need to Get By.” In an occasional side project, he began partnering with New Jersey-born Redman (born Reginald Noble) in 1999, appearing together at the Hot 97 Summer Jam that year.

Grammy Award winner Doja Cat (née Amala Dlamini) released the Billboard No. 1 singles “Paint the Town Red” and “Say So” (featuring Nicki Minaj). Her 2022 album “Planet Her” has gone 2X Platinum, meaning 2 million units sold. Nigerian-American rapper Davido (birth name David Adeleke) meshes pop with traditional African elements, and last year released his third album, “Timeless.” Grammy nominee Offset (real name Kiari Cephus) was part of the platinum trio Migos, whose bandmate Takeoff (né Kirsnik Ball) was killed in a shooting in 2022.

The concert went on last year despite a sudden court filing by the administration of County Executive Bruce Blakeman three days before the June 4 show. Blakeman in a statement cited “security issues that were presented to the county.” In a court filing in response, former Suffolk County District Attorney Timothy Sini, acting as a lawyer for the concert's organizers, wrote: “Nowhere in its papers does the County cite deficiencies in the security measures and precautions … nor does it identify a specific security threat that prompts it to take the extraordinary step of seeking an injunction” against the concert.

Nassau County officials withdrew the filing a day after submitting it, saying concert organizers would contribute $80,000 to cover the cost of law enforcement’s role in policing the event.
