Jermaine Jones - booted off "American Idol" on Wednesday night during a strangely contorted pre-taped segment - has an interview with HLN's "Showbiz Tonight" in which he says the show had been made aware of his arrest record at the outset of the competition. He calls the various arrests "small minor fractions." (Worth watching because he really didn't get his say last night.) Co-host A.J. Hammer pulls up the valid question of whether Jones' exit was some sort of exploitation stunt, but Jones doesn't quite go there. Here's a clip:
