School's Out! Columbus Day at Center for Science Teaching and Learning (1 Tanglewood Rd., Rockville Centre) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Kids can enjoy exploring nature and science with different hands-on activities. Appropriate for children ages 4-12. Preregistration is required. Price: $50 per child

Build a Biome at Maritime Explorium (101 East Broadway, Port Jefferson) from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Kids can have fun and help the environment by using recycled water bottles to grow something green. Price: Free with $5 admission
Wild West Adventure at Harbes Family Farm (1223 Main Rd, Jamesport) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Kids can enjoy tons of fun activities like pumpkin picking, playing games, taking hay rides and exploring the corn maze. Price: $12.95
Knuffle Bunny at BroadHollow's BayWay Arts Center (265 E. Main St., East Islip) at 1 p.m. Families can enjoy this live kid-friendly musical. Price: $10
