Sakura in Farmingdale to be replaced by steakhouse

After seven years of hibachi flames and sushi rolls, downtown Farmingdale’s Sakura closed earlier this summer, and a new steakhouse is hot on its heels.
Benedetto, Cynthia and son Michael Lo Manto — who own the village’s Vespa Italian Kitchen & Bar — have leased the space at 283 Main St. and plan to open Harley’s American Grille and Bar next spring.

Benedetto, Cynthia and son Michael Lo Manto — who own the village’s Vespa Italian Kitchen & Bar — have leased the space at 283 Main St. and plan to open Harley’s American Grille and Bar next spring.
“It will be more of a classic steakhouse, with chops, seafood, and maybe a few homemade pasta dishes,” said Benedetto Lo Manto, who was considering a few different concepts for the space before settling on a steakhouse.
He plans to dry-age steaks on premises, but is still working on the rest of the menu. “Downtown Farmingdale is flourishing and coming into its own, and there’s really no steakhouse here.”
The Lo Mantos also own Spuntino-St. James.
