Babylon Town collects abundant toys in its annual angel program
The Town of Babylon’s Department of Human Services wrapped up its annual Angel Tree Program last week.
The program, which is more than ten years old, invites town residents, employees, and businesses to donate holiday gifts to the children of needy families.

The program, which is more than ten years old, invites town residents, employees, and businesses to donate holiday gifts to the children of needy families.
Around 125 underprivileged children, ages ten and under, will receive gifts through the program this year, according to Madeline Quintyne, the town’s commissioner of human services.
“My office was packed,” she said of the hundreds of items that locals donated this year.
The gifts came from GallettAir of West Babylon, South Bay Collision of West Babylon, and local Boy and Girl Scout troops, among other groups. The children’s families will also receive a food basket from the department, which runs the town’s food pantry as well.
“It touches my heart,” Quintyne said of the program. “It’s about giving, and that’s the most important thing.”
