Five men were arrested on assault and riot charges following a melee Tuesday night inside a Huntington gastropub, Suffolk County police said.
Police said Second Precinct officers responding to a 911 call Tuesday at 11:09 p.m. at Vauxhall, located at 26 Clinton Ave., reported that "a group of people" were causing a disturbance — and that when an employee intervened, "the suspects assaulted him."
The extent of any injuries was not immediately detailed, although police said the employee was treated at a hospital and released.
Police said officers arrested Naire Daniels, 21, of Wyandanch, Hayden Charles, 19, of West Babylon, Dashawn Andrews, 18, of North Babylon, Carl Andrews, 20, of West Babylon, and Tapharye Charles, 22, of West Babylon. The five were arraigned Wednesday in First District Court in Central Islip, charged with second-degree assault and second-degree riot.
All are due back in court next month.
