Suffolk County police are trying to find the man who robbed a bank earlier this week in Shirley.

On Friday, police released surveillance video from the robbery at the Capital One Bank branch on Montauk Highway at about 9:50 a.m. Wednesday.

Suffolk County police are trying to find the man who robbed a bank earlier this week in Shirley.

On Friday, police released surveillance video from the robbery at the Capital One Bank branch on Montauk Highway at about 9:50 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said the suspect — seen wearing jeans, a black coat, a light-colored baseball cap and work boots — entered the bank, handed a demand note to the teller and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police said the suspect is believed to be between 5 feet, 9 inches tall and 5 feet, 11 inches tall. He had a beard and mustache, they said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-220-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential and callers are eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000 for any information leading to an arrest, police said.
