Cops: Dixon Deli in Copiague shut down due to gambling, drinking
Two women and a man were arrested and a Copiague deli was condemned and closed after police said they found gambling, drinking and code violations there Friday night.
The owner, a worker and a customer were arrested as authorities shut down Dixon Deli & Grocery on Dixon Avenue, Suffolk County, police said.

The owner, a worker and a customer were arrested as authorities shut down Dixon Deli & Grocery on Dixon Avenue, Suffolk County, police said.
The deli owner, Rosa Marmol, 44, was charged with two counts of having a disorderly premises as well as promoting gambling and possession of gambling devices, all misdemeanors, police said.
Worker Arleen Melo was charged with allowing the consumption of beer on the premises and possession of untaxed cigarettes, also misdemeanors, police said.
Yosy DeLeon, a patron, was charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, police said.
The Town of Babylon Quality of Life Task Force issued 13 building, fire and code violations to the owner, according to police.
The investigation was a joint effort with the Suffolk County police, including the First Precinct Crime Section, and the Town of Babylon’s departments of public safety, fire marshal, building inspector, and code enforcement.
