Cops: Driver rammed homicide detective's car
A Patchogue man driving with a suspended license was arrested Thursday morning after running a red light in Medford and crashing into an unmarked car driven by the commanding officer of the Suffolk County Police Department's homicide squad, police said.
John Wilson, 44, of Patchogue, was driving a 2008 Toyota north on Route 112 in Medford when he ran a red light, police said, and crashed into Det. Lt. Gerard Pelkofsky's car, Suffolk police said. Pelkofsky was driving east on Expressway Drive South.

There were no injuries, police said.
Wilson charged with driving with a suspended license and issued traffic summons for unlicensed operation of a vehicle and failure to stop at a red light, police said.
He was scheduled for arraignment Thursday at First District Court in Central Islip.
