Taxi driver in Malverne robbed at knifepoint, Nassau cops say
Nassau County police are looking for a man who robbed a taxi driver at knifepoint Friday night in Malverne.
The victim, a 25-year-old man, was driving south on Cornwell Avenue near Motley Street when the suspect flagged him down and approached the driver’s window at 7:40 p.m., police said in a news release.

The victim, a 25-year-old man, was driving south on Cornwell Avenue near Motley Street when the suspect flagged him down and approached the driver’s window at 7:40 p.m., police said in a news release.
The suspect, described as a 25-year-old, male, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-7, 160 pounds and unshaven with black curly hair and wearing a white T-shirt with a torn sleeve, dark jeans and black boots, brandished a black-handled knife with a silver blade and demanded money, police said.
The driver, who works for All Island Taxi, handed over cash, police said, before the robber grabbed the victim’s cellphone and fled east on Motley Street toward the Westwood Long Island Rail Road Station.
No injuries were reported, according to police.
