A masked man brandishing what appeared to be a shotgun robbed a Westbury gas station late Sunday, Nassau County police said.

The suspect took an unspecified amount of cash after entering the Mobil station at 79 Old Country Rd. at about 11:15 p.m., police said.

He approached the clerk with the weapon, demanded cash and then left the station after the clerk put the money in a gray knit cap supplied by the suspect, police said.

The suspect — described as stocky, about 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing a camouflage hooded jacket, black pants, dark boots, glasses, a ski mask and latex gloves — then left, walking north out of the parking lot and west onto Myrtle Avenue, police said.

No one was injured; no customers were inside the store at the time of the robbery, police said.
