ELIZABETH GIORDANO was born on Feb. 26, 1923, in Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of a coal miner and the third-youngest child of eight. She came to New York at 18 to work in a factory during World War II. Elizabeth met her husband, James, and they married on April 30, 1948. She was widowed in 1982. She has two daughters, four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She is active at her church in Westbury, where she resides, and enjoys reading and spending time with family. She celebrated her birthday with family and friends.
