Nassau and Suffolk anniversaries

65thLENA AND LOUIS FORTE of Elmont were wed Feb. 9, 1947. They celebrated at King Umberto's in Elmont with family and friends. Louis is an army World War II veteran who served in Hawaii. Lena is a retired Grumman secretary. They have two children, two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

60thBEVERLY AND JACK HAMMER of Port Washington were wed Oct. 27, 1951, in Boston. A renewal of vows ceremony was held for 80 couples at Harbor Links in Port Washington on Valentine's Day. Jack worked as a financial planner while Beverly did administrative work for medical groups and schools. Jack was a troop leader for the Boy Scouts and Beverly worked in a soup kitchen. They have four children and seven grandchildren.

50thPHYLLIS AND MIKE

CAVALLUZZO of Ridge were wed March 3, 1962. They both grew up and met in the Bronx. They celebrated over dinner with their three sons, five grandchildren, sister and brother-in-law. A family cruise is planned for July.

40thMARY AND GEORGE MUNOZ of Deer Park were wed Feb. 24, 1972. They celebrated with their five children and nine grandchildren at a restaurant. They met when they were 13 and were high school sweethearts.

40thROSALYN AND HOWARD WALOWITZ of East Meadow met on a blind date. They were wed Jan. 9, 1972, in Brooklyn. They celebrated with a brunch hosted by their children at the Rosewood Inn in Melville, followed by a Caribbean cruise. Rosalyn worked as a registered nurse for 40 years and retired from Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre in 2009. Howard is a retired insurance representative. They have three children and six grandchildren.
