Jeanne Petta of Floral Park has received the Outstanding Friends Award from the Library Trustees Association of New York State for her work with Friends of the Floral Park Library over the past 25 years. Petta is president emerita and former board president of the Friends of the Floral Park Library and is credited with initiating the organization's book club and audio/visual system in the library meeting room, among other things. She also volunteers at the Interfaith Nutrition Network in Hempstead, a tutor at New Hyde Park Memorial High School, and on the board of directors of the Floral Park Historical Society.
