of Bohemia has received a 2010 award for communications excellence from the International Association of Business Communicators' Long Island chapter for his "commitment to the field and service to the Long Island community." Giokas is chairman and editor of special projects at HealthDay, a service that provides daily health news to more than 5,000 websites, and is president and chief executive of StaffWriters Plus, a media marketing company. He is a former Newsday journalist and a founding member of the Long Island Software & Technology Network.
