A child was struck by a car Saturday afternoon in the parking lot of Jericho High School during Homecoming weekend, firefighters said.

Jericho firefighters were called to the school at 99 Cedar Swamp Rd. about 3:45 p.m. when a boy, who was either 4 or 5 years old, was hit by a car traveling at low speed, firefighters said.

A child was struck by a car Saturday afternoon in the parking lot of Jericho High School during Homecoming weekend, firefighters said.

Jericho firefighters were called to the school at 99 Cedar Swamp Rd. about 3:45 p.m. when a boy, who was either 4 or 5 years old, was hit by a car traveling at low speed, firefighters said.

The boy’s injuries were not considered serious and he remained conscious before an ambulance took him to a nearby hospital, firefighters said

The driver who struck the child remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities, officials said.
