Police are searching for a man who they said stabbed another man to death on a Hempstead street early Tuesday.

The identity of the victim, described only as a male Hispanic, has not been released.

Police are searching for a man who they said stabbed another man to death on a Hempstead street early Tuesday.

The identity of the victim, described only as a male Hispanic, has not been released.

Nassau County police said the victim was found near the corner of Nichols Court and Main Street at 4:30 a.m.

Police said he had been "stabbed in the body." He was transported to an area hospital, where he died.

Police said the assailant fled the scene.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the incident to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS. All calls will remain confidential.
